With today officially kicking off Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey fight week, I have decided to put up an article every day about this fight.

Today I am starting with five reasons why Pacquiao will win the fight this coming Saturday. Many experts are picking him to win, and with good reason.

A charity event conceptualized by Dennis Guillermo, Ill Phil Ramilo and myself will be held at Pacquiao’s after party at the Ranger’s ballpark in Arlington.

Produced by the idea of uniting young Filipinos and help the unfortunate, this charity event’s purpose is to garner proceeds which will be distributed to the people in need in the Philippines.

In a typical day at Wild Card Gym before Pacquiao went to Dallas; the fans scattered in the small plaza where the Roach’s gym is located.

As usual the fans came from different places and consisted of people from different backgrounds, which proves the star power of the Filipino icon. Even though an autograph is not guaranteed from the Filipino champion because of his busy schedule; Pacquiao’s known generosity to his fans entices his fans to wait for him after training almost every day.

Devon Alexander showed that he is indeed “Alexander the Great” and Vic Darchinyan showed that he still has something left in the tank.

Another good weekend for boxing fans is in the books so lets get to it.

Once again, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is figured in another controversy. This time it goes beyond boxing.

In an online article written by Oliver Suarez last March 6, 2010 at sportzhypeboxing.com, this is what Jeff De Guzman, a media personnel from the Philippines, said of his experience at the LA press conference.

"When we were supposed to go over there where Floyd was, Kelly Swanson said, 'Are you Filipino media,' and I said yeah and I want to interview Mayweather, the she said.'No Filipino media allowed to talk to Mayweather."

The recent new regarding Floyd's refusal to talk to the media has created a mild controversy. A number of members of the Filipino media were offended and felt that it was a type of discrimination. Even Bob Arum was upset at the situation. .

Bob Arum was quoted by Dennis Guillermo of Filipino Sports Examiner as saying, "To me it borders on racism and nationalism, this is absolutely not the American way. As an American I have to apologize to all the Filipino people and the Filipino media. This is absolutely outrageous."

I don't believe Mayweather is a racist, but if he indeed instructed her publicist to banned the Filipino media from talking to him, then it was certainly an act of discrimination and cowardliness.

Already involved in what many perceives as the biggest fight between two Americans since Hagler and Leonard, Mayweather still kept bashing Pacquiao in order to promote his fight with Mosley.

I guess he even knows, who the real draw or superstar in boxing.

In fact, the Mayweather camp's obvious intent to tarnish Pacquiao's legacy has not been exclusive to the Filino icon as they've even thrown insults to his country by twisting its history and accusing it of being one of the biggest producer of PEDs.

In a not so typical media day, which included Pacquiao’s shortest biggest fan Minny Pacquiao and a group of people who were wearing orange shirts in obvious display of support for Manny Villar, Pacquiao may have proven that he can definitely multitask and may be able to juggle both careers in politics and boxing simultaneously.

During his media day in Wild Card Gym, Pacquiao was able to unofficially start his campaign and at the same time do his usual workout for the media by hitting the mitts with Freddie Roach.

With the Olympics just wrapping up a few days ago, I got to thinking about what countries would win medals if you looked at champions. There are a lot of countries that have champions, but only a few who could challenge for the gold in these Boxing Olympics.

These are only the real champions so no interim titlists are included on this list. That ruled out some very good fighters such as: Chad Dawson, Paulus Moses, Jorge Solis, Yuriorkis Gamboa, and Nontio Donaire. Super champions were included, but the regular champions in those divisions were not.

By now we already know that Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. pulverized Marvin Sansona and forced the latter to kiss the canvass in the fourth round of their battle for the WBO super bantamweight title.
Countless reasons have been swirling around concerning Sansona's crushing defeat but in my humble opinion, I think it is Sansona's very own attitude that is the root cause of his downfall.
