Already involved in what many perceives as the biggest fight between two Americans since Hagler and Leonard, Mayweather still kept bashing Pacquiao in order to promote his fight with Mosley.

I guess he even knows, who the real draw or superstar in boxing.

In fact, the Mayweather camp's obvious intent to tarnish Pacquiao's legacy has not been exclusive to the Filino icon as they've even thrown insults to his country by twisting its history and accusing it of being one of the biggest producer of PEDs.


Not only that, Mayweather has even compared himself to American soldiers and Martin Luther King Jr. in order to gain more support for his actions.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if he compares himself to Pacquiao next?

But for all the trash talking and self promotion that he does for himself; he proved once again that it's all false bravado as he was not man enough to face the Filipino media during his conference in Los Angeles as mentioned by Dennis 'Dsource' Guillermo in his article titled,
Philippine media Banned from interviewing Floyd Mayweather Jr. at LA Press Con


During the conference some members of the Filipino media felt odd that the conference was almost done and they were the only ones left that haven't gotten the chance to interview the fighters. Then when it was their turn, they were quickly turned away because Floyd apparently does not want to talk about Pacquiao so close to the fight. 

He didn't want to talk about Pacquiao?  Has Floyd Mayweather been kidnapped and been replaced by a Fraud Mayweather?  Is this the same Floyd Mayweather that had consistently badmouthed Pacquiao in his interviews even when not prompted?

It's understandable for an athlete to alienate a certain media person for one reason or another, but it's a different story when you alienate a group of media based on ethnicity. In fact, what he did not only speaks of cowardliness, but prejudice and racism.

Maybe, some of the Pacquiao fans were right in their assumptions that Mayweather only mandated the pound for pound king to undergo an Olympic drug testing since he was afraid to face him in the ring.

If he was fearful of facing the Filipino media, who at most will question him about his own statements, then how much more about the thought of facing Pacquiao in the ring.

Trash talkers are dime a dozen in sports, but most athletes such as Mayweather don't have the guts to back them up. They spew comments that reeks of jealousy and hatred in hopes of reaching those people too ignorant to know the truth.

If Mayweather truly believed in his statements about the Philippines or Pacquiao, then he should have had the guts to answer those people that might question them. At least tell them personally and not use a third party as a tool to deliver his message.

The irony of it all is he once proclaimed that his race is one of the main reasons that hasn't gotten the recognition that he deserves, which is true to some extent, but now has victimized the Filipino media of the same ignorance the he was once a victim of. Although I don't know what extent his race had to do with his lack of support, when the most popular and biggest star in the sport is a non-English speaker from a third world country.

Maybe Floyd need to realize that he hasn't gotten the support that he thinks he deserves because of his questionable decisions.  There might not have been any question who the best fighter of his generation if he fought the best fighters at his weight class after he defeated Hatton. 

Yet many of his critics still could have respected him if he actually stood by his decisions.  He says he only cares about money, yet often becomes defensive and more often than not trash other boxers accomplishments when his legacy is questioned.

Now, how can he expect people to respect him, when he can't even back up his statements about Pacquiao in front of the Filipino media?  Not only did his refusal the Filipino media prove that he's a hypocrite, but a coward as well.
